We lived with Virginia Angel for six months (1980) in Tucson, Arizona, interviewed her daily, and found, alongside our other many interviewees, that Virginia Angel was an incredible woman. She was a wingwalker and among the very first sky jumpers. From the historical perspective, she was a gold mine of information. Virginia was Jimmie's first and only legitimate wife. When we compare what Virginia provided for us, combined with her live-in companions, Patricia and Helen Starliper (closely involved with Jimmie Angel in the 40's and 50's) we realize our divine fortune and our exclusively mission to tell the complete biography of Jimmie Angel. No one else ever interviewed Virginia and the Starlipers; no one else could write the complete biography. There is a reason why, before his death, The Honorable Barry Goldwater asked us if we would allow him "the honor" of writing the introduction to our Angel biographies; there is a reason why Lowell Thomas requested that my father to go on tour with him; why Don Montague wrote that my father's article on Jimmie Angel was his most popular article ever; why Marie Angel became so attached to my parents that she dumped volumes of information on them and granted several interviews; why the famed orchidologist and former president of shell, G.C.K. "Stalky" Dunsterville -and his lovely wife, Nora- sent us thousands of dollars at times when our research depleted the family funds; why Virginia Angel and Patricia and Helen Starliper expressed her undying love for my mother, Dorothy, and father, Paul, and supported us with prayers and gifts of love after my sister, Melanie, was killed; why Virginia Angel allowed us to live in her home for 6 months, granted my mother and father the only interviews she ever allowed about her husband, Jimmie Angel, emptied an entire garage of Angel memorabilia upon us, and like so many others, became lifelong friends of our family; there is a reason why Gustavo Heny, Felix Cardona, Dr. Carlos Freeman and so many others welcomed my mother and father into their homes, expressed in writing how they had hoped that it would be the Eversole family who wrote the biography of Jimmie Angel.
